Mission Statement:
The Gujarati Society of Southern California (GSSC) seeks to
unite Gujaratis of all backgrounds and those interested in Gujarati culture and
heritage under the objective of pooling our diverse set of skills and resources
to deliver a better future for the communities around us and the generations
ahead. The GSSC strives to give back to the community by contributing its voice
and aid in areas of philanthropy, youth development, women's empowerment,
seniors' activities, and more. Gujarati Society of Southern California (GSSC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization. Federal ID # 82-2487416.
Objectives:
- Promote Gujarati heritage and culture in Southern California through several projects of interest to members of the community
- Become a resource for all members of the community
- Create interdependent relationships amongst several diverse Gujarati community members through joint efforts and projects of mutual benefit
- Organize fundraising events to help those in need, in events of disasters nationally or internationally
- Serve the needs of youth, women, and senior citizen members
- Create networking opportunities for business owners and young professionals
- Raise money to build Sports Complex and Social Club
- Organize programs related to health and political awareness for all members of the community and other Indian communities
